What

Remote Lands, an exhibition of twelve recent works by Giuseppe Mercurio, a Canadian artist of Italian background. The paintings evoke remote and rarefied landscapes, mostly x-rays of the soul, inviting us to reflect and suspend disbelief.

go on, saddle your courage
youth scrolling through the notes
the loop of static sound
the San Francisco commute
a bit longer,the compass is facing south
your smoke is not lit
get going, it sounds the same
the brakes malfunctioned, i could not get on
a view from inside, thank-you
no
let go of my ears
he is not the boy named sue
the dream had no exit
the streetcar going home

What’s going on? It is dark No memory or clarity delineates a path All you hear is “go on!” The tension builds… Moisture all over your skin, an endless fountain A struggle… Do I feign the courage and attack like an infantry
